"Training on your schedule!"
You will need a "high speed" internet connection (DSL, Cable, or Local Area Network) to effectively download and view the training modules. All training modules are in QuickTime format. You will need QuickTime loaded on your system to view the modules. If you are accessing from a machine that is not maintained by PCADV, you can download and install QuickTime (free) from Apple's web site.
CD Tutorials
Several CD-ROM based training modules are available through the Library. The CD tutorials can be signed-out of the collection and viewed at a time that is convenient for you. These tutorials are interactive learning modules that lead you through various office applications. Your supervisor must sign-out the CD's from the Librarian.

Live Training (offered upon request only)
Intro to Macintosh: For the initiated user
This 3 hour class is for staff who are familiar with the basic operation of their Macintosh computer but would like to learn time-saving methods of navigating and utilizing the "not-so-obvious" functions of the operating system and basic interaction with the network. This class is offered periodically at different times to accomodate staff schedules and new staff hires. The instructor for this class is Miller.
What you should expect to learn from this class:
• keyboard commands and shortcuts to help reduce the amount of mousing
• basic interaction with the network systems including backing up your documents to the server
• basic file organization techniques to make finding your documents a breeze
• using the Sherlock application to locate misplaced files and to perform internet searches
Now Up-To-Date: Basics
This is a 1-2 hour course to get users started with the calendar system. This course will cover the following topics with time at the end for individual training & questions.
• Creating a calendar file
• Server Connections
• Defining resources - categories & sets
• Adding appointments - personal items
• Scheduling meetings - public items
